I think I’ve found my next studio space! Not to mention, Kate Beckinsale — incredible gorgeous!
Although I had to bribe Maeson for our “Mommy & me” photoshoot, I think the end result was so worth it. I heart her!

my little girl is now four! did you hear that?? she’s four! man how time has flown…it was just yesterday that i held her tiny little finger in mine for the first time and now she is four. i love you baby girl!
ok, i will apoligize in advance for any typos, but only because i am laughing so hard.
my wonderful hubby just told me that he got a ticket yesterday when taking the kids to school — of course, that isn’t why i am laughing, there is more. our little girl, maeson, whom will be 4 shortly, always says, “what’s your name” when we go through a drive thru for food or make deposits at the bank or even when you just say hi to a stranger in the store. well, when phil was stopped for his expired inspection sticker, she did as she always does…”what’s your name” to the police officer. and, for those of you that don’t know my daughter, she is very persistant! she continued to ask, “what’s your name, what’s your name, what’s your name”, so finally phil asked the office if he wouldn’t mind telling her his name so she would be quiet and that he knew he fully deserved a ticket. apparently mr. officer wasn’t very child-friendly as he gave her a not nice look, so my wonderful daughter says to his glare, “don’t be mad, i just want to know your name.” finally, he replies to her ~ deputy “jones” ~ now here comes the funny part…her reply to him ~ “your name is deputy, now that’s just silly” ~ my hubby is doing all he can do to keep from laughing as the officer is trying to do the same. when deputy couldn’t keep from laughing he finally had to walk back to his car before issuing my hubby his ticket.
moral of the story, next time you get stopped have your kids say, “what’s your name”
as a photographer i am often in the position to share in the moments that make up a lifetime of memories…the expectation of a new addition to the family, the birth of a baby, a birthday celebration, an engagement, graduation, a family photoshoot ~ and this little guy is no exception with the celebration of his recent baptism.

his parents brought with him a couple of special items that will forever make these photos treasured ~ the bear was a gift from his grandmother that says a special prayer each time it is squeezed; the beautiful blanket lining the basket belonged to his mom when she was young; and he also has on a bracelet engraved with his name and baptismal date.
next time you are looking through old family photos stop to think about the items surrounding the person…sometimes these special items, along with your memories of the moment, are captured on film. as someone that gets to share in these moments with each of the families i work with, thank you. i hope these photos along with your memories will be treasured forever.
