Birth Photography

To document the first moment you lay eyes on your child as well as the hours of hard work leading to this life changing introduction.  Birth photography has continued to grow in popularity and as a mom myself, I believe it is one of the most incredible gifts you can give yourself as well as your child. You will be able to look back at these priceless images and “remember” the day, or in some cases see what happened as it all went by so fast that the images run together. Whether giving birth at home, at a hospital, or at a birthing center — it allows your support team to focus on the needs of you, mom, and the new addition soon to enter the world, instead of being behind the camera and worrying if they caught the right moment. This is the importance of hiring a professional birth photographer. My goal is to provide you with a photojournalistic story, often in black and white images, of the birth experience while doing so unobtrusively.

If you feel that birth photography is for you, please contact me as soon as possible, as I accept a limited number of birth photography families each month.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will we meet beforehand?
Absolutely! We will meet prior to your third trimester to talk in detail about what images you would like to have captured, as well as those you may not want documented.

How do you charge for your services?
Please contact me directly for a price list. In order to allow for affordability for what I consider to be one of the most important days of your life as a parent, I offer several birth photography packages. You can choose from an hourly rate or do an all-inclusive birth photography package that includes unlimited hours of coverage on the birth day. Leading up to your due date I am on-call 24/7, and although no birth is scheduled to occur at the perfect time please know that I will do my absolute best to be there during active labor and during the birth itself. If I am unable to attend, which has not happened yet, the fees paid are transferable to a newborn session.

When will we get our pictures?
Normally, your images will be completed within 2-3 weeks after your delivery.

Do you share our images with others?
Due to the intimate nature of birth photography, you have the opportunity to approve all images that are shared with others via our website or in your own slideshow. Although all clients are asked to sign a model release, you remain in control of what images are shared. These are your personal and private images, and will remain just that should you choose.
